The officials found a dead body of a woman, who died in 1973, and since the window had been opened, her body was actually still there. It is pretty weird for me that no one have been to that appartment since the last Croatian war, but I dont get who has been paying the rent and all of that. It's pretty sad.

I would guess there was confusion about who owned the apartment, and so no landlord ever ventured inside because no one thought they were permitted. It's also strange that the pipes didn't freeze and prompt a visit in that way. It was a bit of "luck" that it happened for so long. Really, I bet an anthropologist would have a great time in that apartment, preserved in 1970s condition!
