Reason, type and setting: I read this book approximately 100 times. I used to know it by heart when I was yougner. Of course, the plot is very deep, so I didn't know what does the book mean. But later then, I finaly realized that I have to read it again. It was written during World War 2, and the story was influented by it.
Plot: The entire story is about a pilot, who crashed in the Sahara desert. He is also a narrator of the story. Then he meets a little kid, called the little prince, and he askes him to draw him a sheep. It turns out, that the little prince is from a little planet called Asteroid 325. He was the only person on this planet and he takes care of it from a damage caused by trees called baobabs. Then he found a strange rose and fell in love with it.
He leaves the planet and discovers other planets. Also The Earth. The end of the book is really important, it talkes about people on the earth, that they often don't see what is really important in their lives. Little Prince dies , the pilot fixes his plane thinking that prince is back on his planet.
Character: There are only two protagonists in this story. The Little Prince. Short, blond kid. Not really specified. I picked him, because I think he is the most important character in the story. Brings a really important idea to lives of adults, that every adult was a child, not every one remebers it.
Evaluation: I recommend this book to everyone. I think every single person on this planet should read this beautiful novel. Not only adults, but also kids. It is important, that you don't forget that you used to be a child. Litlle prince symbolizes love, hope, innocence, and everything what a child can be. And it's in everyone of us. Either you are 80 or 16 years old. It doesn't matter. It taught me, that we have to think about really important thing in our lives and actually find out, what are those.
In spite the fact, that this book was written in 50's, it is still current. People haven't changed. It's linked with every single person in our lives.
I wouldn't change the conclusion of this book. I think it's pretty clear why. It's a message. For everyone.
Author, Context and Trivia:
Antoine De Saint- Exupéry is french author, who wrote this book when he was in the USA. His other pieces are Southern Mail, Night Flight, Wind, Sand and stars...and a lot more. I haven't read any of his other books, because in my country they weren't that popular. Besides The Little Prince. I don't think there is a similar book to this one. I'd like to call it a masterpiece, because those who read it know what I'm talking about. I definitely wanna read some other books from Exupéry, but I didn't have a chance so far.
